Scenic Rim Regional Council Library Service

Scenic Rim Regional Council Library Service is a contributor to Picture Queensland

The Scenic Rim Region is located about one hour's drive south of Brisbane and west of the Gold Coast. The Region's boundaries stretch from Peak Crossing and Gleneagle in the north down to the NSW border, and from Tamborine Mountain in the east, to Aratula and the Gap National Park in the west.

Scenic Rim Regional Council has four static libraries and a mobile library. Library branches are located at Beaudesert, Boonah, Canungra and North Tamborine.

The Beaudesert branch maintains a small Local and Family History collection representing the history of farming, forestry, families, tourism and the topography of the Beaudesert region. The collection includes a variety of genealogical resources, works by local authors, histories of local schools, churches and other organisations as well as local newspapers from 1899 to 2004 on microfilm.

The Boonah branch holds an historical photograph collection consisting of over 6000 photographic images. These images are regularly showcased within the Library.
