Queensland Museum

Queensland Museum is a contributor to Picture Queensland.

The Queensland Museum is the custodian of the State’s natural and cultural heritage and is a much-loved icon in the lives of many Queenslanders. Its unique collection of several million items plays a crucial role in documenting our past to better understand our future.

The Museum has four major campuses throughout Queensland, a host of regional services, internationally recognised researchers and an established reputation as an environmental publisher. The Queensland Museum embodies the virtues of discovery, preservation and interpretation, as well as providing a fun learning environment for families.

The Queensland Museum Image Library houses a unique collection of more than 250,000 photographs that document the natural and cultural heritage of Queensland. Selected photographs from this significant collection are now available through Picture Queensland.

The Museum Image Library covers a diverse range of subjects captured in various formats from the earliest days of photography to the new millennium.
