Penrith City Library

Penrith City Library has actively developed and managed the collection to ensure public access to this important resource. The collection consists of a number of personal collections including those of Arthur Street, Joyce Cole Len Hutchison, Albert Evans and the Bale & Colless families. These generous donations by members of the public have significantly enhanced the Photographic Collection and made an invaluable contribution to the preservation of our history. In addition, there are a number of specialised photographic collections covering the St Marys Munitions Factory; 2000 Sydney Olympics; Penrith Civic Centre construction and 1986 Heritage Study.

Donations
The library welcomes donations of photographs from members of the community. Photographs may be either donated to the Library or made available for copying. These photographs become part of the photographic history of the City.

Image database
Approximately 5000 photographs are stored on the Penrith in Pictures photographic database available in the Library. Approximately 3000 of these are on the Web at: http://www3.photosau.com/Penrith/scripts/home.asp

Each entry provides information on the photograph and is accompanied by a low resolution scanned image. New photographs and images are regularly added to the database. Feedback is most welcome.

Purchasing
Information relating to reproduction of images and price list can be found on the Penrith in Pictures website. To place your order, you will need to print the order form, which you can complete and either mail or fax to the library. There are no facilities to receive orders on-line.

Copyright
Penrith City Library retains the copyright on all photographs in its collection unless otherwise stated. Permission must be sought in writing before reproducing any of its photographs or images.
