Barcaldine Library

Barcaldine Library is a contributor to Picture Queensland.

The Barcaldine Region is located in central west Queensland approximately 440km west of Rockhampton, covering an area of 53,677 sq km with an estimated population of 3,503 people.

The Regional Council is made up of the former Shires of Aramac, Barcaldine and Jericho. There are five libraries in the region, one in each of the towns of Alpha, Aramac, Barcaldine, Jericho and Muttaburra.

The Barcaldine Library began its image collection with a 'community drive' to obtain local images to digitise for inclusion in Picture Queensland and Picture Australia.

The Barcaldine Library offers a full range of library services to the community. Resources include books, magazines, newspapers, videos, DVDs, audio cassettes, CDs and CD-ROMs. It also holds microfilm copies of the Western Champion from 1892 -1932.
